Luffa Gourd, Sponge Gourd

The shoots of this annual creeper may reach up to 2 metres in length. Its green, cylindrical fruit slightly resemble cucumbers. The ripe fruit are used for production of the natural bath sponges. This plant is used for covering fences, gazebos, and pergolas.
